The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the suicide murder of a couple in Bayelsa state.
A 46-year-old man, identified as Patrick Markson had allegedly committed suicide, after killing his wife, in Yenagoa.
This was contained in a statement issued by the State Public Public Relations Officer, SP Asinim Butswat, and sent to DAILY POST, on Thursday in Yenagoa.
The statement said “Operatives of the Bayelsa State Police Command, have evacuated two corpses of a husband and wife at Odede Street, off Tombia- Amassoma road, Yenagoa.
”Preliminary investigation reveals that one Patrick Markson ‘m’ 46 years, a native of Onopa, Yenagoa, attacked and killed his wife, Hannah Markson ‘f’ with a hammer. Thereafter drank a poisonous substance suspected to be sniper which led to his death.
”Photograph of the scene were taken, the hammer and bottle of the sniper were recovered as exhibits. Investigation is ongoing.
Civil servant kills wife, self over marital issues in Bayelsa
DAILY POST reported earlier that the man identified as Markson, was a civil servant with the Yenagoa Local Government Area council and hailed from Onopa community while his wife, 35 years old woman, identified as Hannah Markson, was from Okotiama community in Gbarain clan, Yenagoa, the state capital.
